A picture says a thousand words, and by et. al.'s account we owe a lot of pictures on this blog. Not to say we have been doing nothing, aux contrare mon frere.

piper et. al. went to maine to eat, dance and be merry.

Where was I ...

From Piper heads to France 2010

It has been a while, but that does not mean that piper, et. al. have been in absentia. Rather, piper et. al. have been busy being busy. First there were the guests. Piper loved seeing all her family and friends including Grandpa Joe, Grammy Suzie, Grandpa & Grandma Johnson, Uncle Peter, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Chris, Cousin Charlie, Uncle Tom & Aunt Ann, and Emily & Katy. Thank you all for a great visit.

From Even More Piper

Although et. al. remain same same, piper is piping a new tune every day. She is now walking and has a few words (actually noises that et. al. recognize as words). Pipes loves to eat - bananas and cereal, cottage cheese, pasta and sausage are some of her favorites. She and nora have grown closer, often calling out to each other like lost lovers across an alpine valley.

Speaking of the alps, piper et. al. spent last couple of days or so in the Pyrenees in France. Rain put a damper on the biking, though et. al. did manage a few turns at the pedals. Check out vertical pandas for more update on that.

Back to the day to day. For et. al. that means work and for the pipes that means more learning, growing and playing.

Desert, X-rays, Family and Pork

From More Piper
Piper, et. al. drove a long time for a long weekend in Death Valley. Overall, pipes handled the 10 hour drive wonderfully and only manged to projectile vomit twice! In Death Valley, the weather was perfect for et. al. to cycle the desert roads with panda mates Chris and Christine while Uncle Andrew and Julia watched Piper. A big thanks!

Once safely back home, Piper decided to fall off et. al. and twist her ankle. The next day, x-rays confirmed that Piper has bones, and these bones are normal. Whew. A few days of soreness, but she is rehabbing well, pushing the alligator cart.

Grandpa Joe came to visit, and pipes was as pleased as peaches in cream hangin with the family.

From More Piper

Both he and Uncle Andrew have discovered what et. al. have known all along - pipes loves to eat. Not just a bottle, or cheerios - but serious food like sausages and slow roasted pork. Yummy!

Teach Your Children To Share

From More Piper

Call off the Hopper, Call off the parties, the kids are sick. For piper, it started as a rash of epic proportions, followed by a low grade fever and a general lethargy (dopiness). Pipes was completely out of commission for only one day (and a night), but then returned to her normal cheerful disposition, albeit still sick and still lethargic (dopey). Interestingly, pipes is not the only infirm child. Nora - spots and crankiness; Tallulah - sick; DB - not feeling well; Delilah - same. Hmmmm, et. al. is beginning to see a pattern. Not only was last Sunday's valentine's day party a great opportunity to see friends, eat yummy mac-n-cheese, watch "the immigration experts", and frost cookies; it was als0 a time for our children to get together, play and share viruses. At least they're sharing.

But kids will get sick, that is what they do. They also get better, which is what piper is doing. In the meantime, enjoy some recent photos of piper in the park with nora, hanging out in denim, and sharing birthday lunch with et. al.

The Lights Are Still Up

From Christmas 2009

It's January 9th and you may say a little late for a Christmas posting. Never one to be a bah humbug, the lights are still up from Christmas 2008 and piper et. al. just threw another log on the yule tide fire.

Piper et. al. made the round trip to St. Michaels with relative ease despite the blizzard and terrorist plots. Their air companions, Ben, Wendy and Tallulah, proved to be perfect travel companions, sharing bites of avocado sandwiches and the latest gossip (don't worry - nothing about you.)

From Christmas 2009

Piper enjoyed her first Christmas, particularly playing with her cousins.

A lot of growing up to do in 2010, and we'll keep you posted. Until then, keep those lights up and remember its never a bad time to sing some Christmas carols, particularly if you accompany them with a festive jig!
